A Case for Independence!

Many White Rock Friends clients use public transportation to access our General Store and other service organizations. One member of our church who volunteers at the AIDS Resource center food pantry says sometimes he sees clients who do not take all the food available to them because they are traveling on the buss and cannot carry it all.

During the months of May and June, the Mission’s Committee of White Rock Community Church is partnering with White Rock Friends for a major SUITCASE DRIVE for our clients.
If you start looking at your local discount store, you’ll see you can acquire a pretty sizeable and sturdy case for $25 or $30. You may even have a functional but forgotten case in the hallway closet. Our desire is that they have wheels and handles for ease of use by clients.

Think about it, your donation could be LIFE CHANGING for someone who can use it to carry their cleaning and hygiene products along with their clothes closet items and their pet food. They can use it again when they go shopping or go to the food pantry. Managing multiple bags getting on and off the bus can be difficult, especially for someone who may have a physical limitation or fragile health. Through your generosity— you can give someone the independence they need to manage the necessities of life!

Our collection will run through the months of May and June with the distribution occurring on July 5th during our quarterly client party. We will have special drawings throughout our lunch that day from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a special Independence Day Menu including an ice cream bar for our clients.

Please pass this along to your friends and coworkers—-round up some roller suitcases and help us make
For further information or drop off arrangements, or if you’d like to help at July 5th party , please call Douglas at 214-320-0043 ext 29 or e-mail douglas@whiterockchurch.org

Missions We believe we are called to reach out beyond our community and be present with the world around us. To this end, the Missions Ministry seeks out opportunities to participate in a variety of Christ Centered projects. We currently support the Dallas area through our Friends ministry and by supplying food boxes to the needy. We also raise funds for an orphanage in Costa Rica, La Hogarcita de Infantile,  and a Women's Shelter in Dallas.
