Douglas Shaffer
Pastor

Pastor Douglas serves the congregation as Pastor after serving the White Rock Community Congregation for over 6 years as the Associate Pastor.  He leads the Pastoral team toward inspiring and equipping our faith community to live out God’s love within our church and to the community all around us.  Pastor Douglas has a passion for God’s Word and a thirst for the Spirit that are joined with his story-telling ability to teach and encourage all people into the fullness of life that God intends for everyone.

Douglas' education toward ministry includes two years at Evangel College, and two years at Central Bible College resulting in a B.A. in Bible.  Additionally, he has completed two years of the Education for Ministry curriculum through the University of the South. His church involvement includes working as a Children's Pastor, Episcopal Cathedral Chapter member, Deacon, and  HIV/AIDS ministry specialist along with other various ministry involvements.

He is currently a Masters of Divinity Student at Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Texas.


Marianne Mundee
Assistant Pastor

Born and raised in Dallas, Marianne Mundee attended MacArthur High School, Mountain View Junior College, UT Health Science Center in Dallas and received her Masters in Counseling from Amberton University. For 25 years she has provided individual, couples, and family social work services in Dallas County. She currently monitors residential treatment facilities for children throughout the State of Texas. While in graduate school, Pastor Marianne learned of White Rock Community Church's Friends Ministry program. "After attending one time, I knew I had finally found a church that provided comfort and peace in bringing my spiritual foundation and my identity together with a church family serving God in word and in Spirit."

Marianne Mundee was called to serve as Assistant Pastor in 1997. She now serves as spiritual counselor, liaison to the Women's and Couples Ministry, and leads home bible studies and Sunday School classes.


Vivian Davis
Assistant Pastor

Pastor Viv has been a member of WRCC for almost 15 years. During this time she has been a choir member, Women’s Ministry Chair, Personnel Committee member, and an ordained Deacon for 4 years. In 1997 she was Ordained as an Assistant Pastor for White Rock Community Church.

Her professional career and educational degree is as a Registered Nurse. Her career has encompassed numerous aspects of clinical, corporate and patient/ family counseling.

Her personal experience includes church accompanist for 25 years, Youth Music Leader, Youth Bible Study, Choir member in several choirs covering 40 years, singer/accompanist of a Gospel group for 3 years.

Currently, she is a Pastoral Liaison to the Education, Facility and Grounds and Policy and Procedure committees. She facilitates the New Members classes and assists new members in finding their gifts and place in our church family.


Dean Bishop
Pastor Emeritus

Dean Bishop is a charter of member of White Rock Community Church serving as deacon in the first year of its inception. Since then he served as Associate Pastor, works with the Friend's Ministry, Visitation, and Outreach Programs. In 2004, the church named him Pastor Emeritus.

Pastor Dean received his ordination at First Baptist Church in Mena, Arkansas; and earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.


Joe Kessler
Choir Director

Joe has directed and led choirs in churches and public schools as well as serving as pianist and accompanist in churches.  This has included directing adult, youth, and children’s choirs and in various church programs.  He serves as the Course Assistant for the Orff-Schulwerk and Kodaly levels at SMU. He teaches elementary music in the Richardson Independent School District as well as being the Technology Lead for Elementary Music, where he presents workshops in music technology. He is a past presenter of music technology sessions at the Region 10 Fine Arts Summit. He received his bachelor's degree from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, TX and completed his Orff Schulwerk Certification at SMU. In addition, he recently completed his term as Hospitality Chairman for the North Texas-AOSA chapter and will serve as the treasurer for the following year.
