Welcome

Greetings In the Name of Our Lord Jesus!

We are a church that worships God the Father,
are redeemed by the sacrifice of Jesus the Son
on the cross, and empowered by the Holy
Spirit the Comforter to grow in the grace of God
and live out the fruits of the Spirit. We are an
evangelical Christian church that God has
called together to further His Kingdom and Point
People to Jesus through Reaching, Teaching,
Celebrating and Serving. We are called by Jesus
Christ to make disciples and teach them to obey His commands. We are a Christian church that is conservative in doctrine. Our teaching and preaching has the infallible Word of God as its source, power and corrective. We endeavor to be obedient to Christ in loving God with all our heart, soul and mind, and loving our neighbor as ourselves. We believe that the coming together of our members and visitors to worship and minister does not happen by chance because our God is always working in us through the power of the Holy Spirit and the love of Jesus. We welcome you to join with us as we seek to celebrate our inclusive oneness in Christ. Blessings in Jesus, Rev. James P. Walker, Ph.D.

Doctrinal Statement
As Approved by the Congregation September 24, 2006

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe that there is only one God, externally existent in three persons:
    Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His
miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily
resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of God, in His personal return on
    Power and glory.
4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful humanity, regeneration
by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is absolutely essential.

5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit through the exercise of the
Spiritual gifts in the Body of Christ.
6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; that they are saved
unto the resurrection of life and that they are lost unto the resurrection of
    damnation.

7. We believe in the spiritual unity and the priesthood of all believers in the Lord
    Jesus Christ.

Church Covenant

Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus
Christ as our Savior, and on profession of our faith, having been baptized in the
Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now in the
presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter
into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ. We engage therefore, by
the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the
advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its
prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and
doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, to
expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel
through all nations.

Purpose

United by the grace of God as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, we purpose as a
church to obey the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ as commanded in
Matthew 28:19.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I
have commanded you.”

We obey this command as we Point People to Jesus through:

-Reaching ministries that confront people with the Good News of the Gospel in
corporate and individual witness.

-Teaching Ministries that strive to equip the Body of Christ to grow in wisdom and
knowledge of the Lord through the study of Scripture and the practice of the spiritual
gifts, and spiritual disciplines.

-Celebrating ministries that focus on creative worship and fellowship.

-Serving ministries that strive to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
